The splash pad in Turner-Friendship Park is back in service — and just in time for Friday’s warm weather.

The popular cool-off spot in Penn Hills had been closed since May 19 because of maintenance work tied to a nearby water pump system.

According to officials, the shutdown was issued as a precaution to prevent any possible contamination during the maintenance work.

The Public Works and Parks & Recreation departments announced the reopening June 5 through a Savvy Citizen alert and on the township’s website.

The splash pad is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the park off Hunter Road.
