Aaron Strader threw for 166 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a fourth-quarter TD as top-ranked Pine-Richland scored a 31-21 victory over Penn Hills (3-4, 2-1) in a Class 5A Northeast Conference football game Friday night.

Devin Harris threw for 132 yards and ran for two touchdowns for Penn Hills. The game was tied at 21 heading into the fourth quarter before the Rams (7-0, 4-0) pulled away.

Here’s a look at some of the other matchups from Friday night:

Class 6A

North Allegheny 28, Mt. Lebanon 21 — Luke Rohan ran for two touchdowns as No. 2 North Allegheny (6-1, 3-1) beat No. 5 Mt. Lebanon (1-6, 1-3) in a Class 6A contest that gave NA coach Art Walker his 250th career victory. Pat Smith threw for 141 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 111 yards and a TD for Mt. Lebanon.

Seneca Valley 31, Canon-McMillan 30 — Andrew Loebig’s 39-yard scoring pass to Brayden Wise in the fourth quarter lifted Seneca Valley (2-4, 2-1) to the Class 6A win over No. 4 Canon-McMillan (2-5, 1-2). Chase Mazanek ran for 156 yards for Seneca Valley while teammate Cayden Parker added 118 rushing yards and one touchdown. Ty Jansma threw for 177 yards and one touchdown in the loss.

Class 5A

Bethel Park 56, Baldwin 6 — Tanner Pfeuffer threw for 216 yards and five touchdowns to lead No. 3 Bethel Park (7-0, 2-0) to the Allegheny Six win at Baldwin (0-7, 0-2). Ja’Vaughn Moore added 114 rushing yards and two touchdowns for Bethel Park. Devin Taylor ran for 119 yards and Baldwin’s lone touchdown.

Woodland Hills 36, Armstrong 6 — Cam Walter threw for 140 yards and three touchdowns — all to Scoop Smith — as Woodland Hills (5-2, 3-0) beat Armstrong (2-5, 0-3) in Big East Conference play. Smith caught six passes for 105 yards. Jaydon Oliver threw for 218 yards and Armstrong’s touchdown.

North Hills 21, Plum 14 — Kelly McCarthy threw for one touchdown and ran for two more as North Hills (6-1, 2-1) beat Plum (1-6, 1-2) in Northeast Conference play. Darian Nelson caught a TD pass from T.J. Futules, and Sloan Humphries caught a touchdown pass from John Nonneberg for the Mustangs.

Class 4A

Laurel Highlands 21, Ringgold 6 — Laurel Highlands (4-2, 1-1) beat Ringgold (1-6, 0-2) for the Big Six Conference win.

Thomas Jefferson 27, Trinity 7 — Tyler Eber ran for three touchdowns as No. 3 Thomas Jefferson (7-0, 2-0) beat Trinity (2-5, 1-1) in Big Six Conference play.

Hampton 34, Indiana 7 — Kelly Porter threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns as Hampton (3-4, 1-1) beat Indiana (1-6, 0-2) in the Greater Allegheny Conference. Evan McAneny added 139 rushing yards and two touchdowns for Hampton.

Mars 42, Knoch 7 — Eric Kasperowicz ran for 296 yards and four touchdowns to lead No. 5 Mars (3-4, 2-0) to the Greater Allegheny Conference win at Knoch (2-4, 1-1). Gabe Hein and Ayden Yocum also scored for the Fightin’ Planets. Codi Mullen scored on a 63-yard run for Knoch.

McKeesport 40, West Mifflin 20 — Brady Eastman ran for two touchdowns as No. 4 McKeesport (3-4, 2-0) defeated West Mifflin (2-5, 0-2) in the Greater Allegheny Conference. Armand Hill rushed for 258 yards and a touchdown for West Mifflin.

Aliquippa 19, West Allegheny 7 — Tiqwai Hayes ran for 168 yards and two touchdowns as top-ranked Aliquippa (4-1, 2-0) beat West Allegheny (1-3, 1-1) in Parkway Conference play. Sa’Nir Brooks added 94 rushing yards and one touchdown.

Blackhawk 29, Ambridge 21 — In the Parkway Conference, Stephen Knallay threw for 192 yards and four touchdowns as Blackhawk (4-3, 1-1) beat Ambridge (3-3, 0-2).

Montour 51, New Castle 6 — No. 2 Montour (6-0, 2-0) defeated New Castle (4-2, 0-2) in Parkway Conference play.

Class 3A

Imani Christian 71, East Allegheny 0 — Steve Vandiver threw for 132 yards and four touchdowns and ran for a TD as top-ranked Imani Christian (7-0, 3-0) blanked East Allegheny (0-7, 0-4) in the Allegheny 7 Conference. Dayshawn Burnett caught three touchdowns passes while Dajaun Craighead ran for two TDS and caught another.

Elizabeth Forward 56, Derry 14 — Charlie Nigut ran for 162 yards and three touchdowns and caught a TD pass as Elizabeth Forward (4-3, 2-0) defeated Derry (3-4, 0-2) in Interstate Conference play. Ryan Messina threw for 213 yards and three touchdowns while Connor Stokes caught two passes — both for touchdowns — for 102 yards. Max Doherty scored on a 6-yard run and 11-yard pass from Anthony Sacco for the Trojans.

Southmoreland 53, Yough 34 — Camren Phillips ran for 131 yards and three touchdowns as Southmoreland (6-1, 2-0) scored 32 points in the fourth quarter in its Interstate Conference win over Yough (2-5, 0-2). Anthony Smith threw for 215 yards and three touchdowns for Southmoreland. Yough’s Raidon Kuroda threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 120 yards and three TDs.

Avonworth 46, Quaker Valley 7 — In the Western Hills Conference, Dimitri Velisaris ran for 130 yards and two touchdowns as No. 3 Avonworth (5-2, 3-0) downed Quaker Valley (1-5, 0-3). Jack Crawford and Luke Chrissis added two touchdowns each for Avonworth.

Central Valley 46, North Catholic 38 — Mason Dixon ran for 250 yards and four touchdowns as No. 4 Central Valley (3-4, 3-1) outlasted North Catholic (3-4, 2-1) for the Western Hills Conference win. Steven Rutherford threw for 102 yards and a touchdown and ran for two scores for Central Valley. Joey Felitsky threw for 355 yards and four touchdowns for North Catholic while teammate Ryker Kennedy caught 15 passes for 138 yards and one touchdown.

Hopewell 56, McGuffey 24 — James Armstrong threw for 191 yards and one touchdown and ran for a TD as Hopewell (4-3, 2-2) beat McGuffey (0-6, 0-4) in a Western Hills Conference game. Logan Carlisle tossed for 111 yards and a touchdown and ran for 108 yards and two TDs for McGuffey.

Class 2A

Steel Valley 55, Apollo-Ridge 10 — Donald and Da’Ron Barksdale each ran for three touchdowns to lead Steel Valley (5-3, 3-1) to a Class 2A Allegheny Conference win. Donald Barksdale ran seven times for 165 yards. Da’Ron Barksdale also threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Samir Smoot. For Apollo-Ridge (0-7, 0-4), Gabe Suman kicked a 27-yard field goal to give the Vikings a 3-0 lead and Alex Clawson scored on a 1-yard run.

South Allegheny 56, Shady Side Academy 22 — Ryan Cortes threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns as No. 4 South Allegheny (6-1, 3-1) defeated Shady Side Academy (2-5, 1-3) in Allegheny Conference play.

Seton LaSalle 49, Sto-Rox 0 — Logan King ran for 106 yards and three touchdowns and Michael Pastirik threw for 130 yards and two TDs as top-ranked Seton LaSalle (6-0, 4-0) downed Sto-Rox (0-6, 0-4) in the Century Conference.

Washington 26, Keystone Oaks 25 — Tristan Reed completed three passes, all to Caleb Patton, for 139 yards and a 91-yard touchdown as Washington (4-3, 2-1) beat Keystone Oaks (3-3, 3-1) in the Century Conference. Trenton Grooms rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown for Washington. Billy Brickner ran for 184 yards and a touchdown for Keystone Oaks while teammate Brenden Quarles rushed for 106 yards and three TDs.

Waynesburg Central 27, Carlynton 26 — Jacob Stephenson ran for 121 yards and two touchdowns, including one in overtime, and threw for 113 yards to lead Waynesburg Central (4-3, 2-1) to the Century Conference win against Carlynton (3-4, 0-3). John Sciulli rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns for Carlynton.

Mohawk 35, New Brighton 19 — Bobby Fadden threw for 157 yards and a touchdown as Mohawk (3-2, 2-1) beat New Brighton (3-4, 1-3) in a Midwestern Athletic Conference game.

Riverside 14, Freedom 0 — In the Midwestern Athletic Conference, Robert Janis rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown as Riverside (4-3, 3-1) shut out Freedom (2-3, 1-3). Aidan Gaydosz threw for 129 yards and ran for a touchdown for Riverside.

Union 21, Beaver Falls 8 — Lucas Stanley threw for 216 yards and a touchdown as Union (1-5, 1-3) beat Beaver Falls (0-7, 0-4) in the Midwestern Athletic Conference. Za’Saun McElvy ran for 100 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

Class A

Rochester 49, Shenango 28 — In the Big 7 Conference, Jason Clinton ran for 121 yards and two touchdowns as Rochester (2-4, 2-2) overcame an early 14-point deficit to defeat Shenango (1-4, 1-3). Sam Patton threw for 183 yards and a touchdown for Shenango.

South Side 36, Northgate 35 (OT) — Andrew Corfield’s 10-yard scoring run, followed by his conversion run, lifted South Side to the overtime win against Northgate in the Big 7 Conference. Sonteon Layne earlier scored on a 10-yard run during Northgate’s overtime possession, followed by Sam Stiteler’s point-after kick. Corfield ran for 162 yards and three touchdowns. Layne threw for 204 yards and a TD and ran for three touchdowns.

Bishop Canevin 42, Serra Catholic 0 — In the Black Hills Conference, Myontae Mott ran for 134 yards and two touchdowns as No. 3 Bishop Canevin (5-1, 3-0) shut out Serra Catholic (1-6, 0-3). Kyle Olszewski threw for 61 yards and three touchdowns.

Fort Cherry 35, Cornell 6 — Matt Sieg threw for 134 yards and three touchdowns — all to Shane Cornali — as top-ranked Fort Cherry (7-0, 4-0) beat Cornell (5-2, 2-2) in the Black Hills Conference. Cornali caught five passes for 102 yards while Sieg added 153 rushing yards and one touchdown.

Monessen 14, Chartiers-Houston 7 — Tim Kershaw threw two touchdown passes as No. 5 Monessen (6-1, 2-1) beat Chartiers-Houston in Black Hills Conference play.

Brentwood 42, Riverview 35 — Cedric Davis threw for 249 yards and four touchdowns to lead Brentwood (4-3, 3-1) to the Eastern Conference win against Riverview (2-3, 1-2). Forrest Betz caught nine passes for 178 yards and four touchdowns. Connor Kmetz threw for 282 yards and two touchdowns for the Raiders.

Clairton 70, Springdale 0 - No. 2 Clairton improved to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the Eastern Conference with a victory over Springdale (0-6, 0-4). The Bears have outscored conference opponents 220-0.

Leechburg 62, Frazier 16 — Tim Andrasy scored four touchdowns, and Jayden Floyd scored three times as Leechburg (7-0, 4-0) downed Frazier (1-6, 0-4) in Eastern Conference play. Brady Rollinger also returned a punt 39 yards for a score. Floyd had scoring runs of 45, 35 and 45 yards. Andrasy’s TD runs covered 11, 5, 10 and 35 yards. Jake Cummings also scored on a 45-yard run for the Blue Devils.

Avella 49, Mapletown 0 — Charles Rush ran for 115 yards and two touchdowns as Avella (3-4, 2-2) picked up the Tri-County South shutout at Mapletown (1-6, 0-4).

California 44, Carmichaels 8 — Lee Qualk rushed for 216 yards and four touchdowns to lead California (5-2, 4-0) to the Tri-County South win against Carmichaels (2-3, 1-3). Parker Hewitt ran for 100 yards and Carmichaels’ only touchdown.

Jefferson-Morgan 35, Beth-Center 8 — Houston Guseman threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns as Jefferson-Morgan (7-0, 4-0) beat Beth-Center (0-6, 0-4) in a Tri-County South game. Deakyn Dehoet caught seven passes for 112 yards and two touchdowns.

West Greene 36, Bentworth 33 — In Tri-County South play, West Greene (3-4, 3-1) beat Bentworth (4-3, 2-2).

Nonconference

Albert Gallatin 41, Clear Spring (Md.) 21 — Caleb DeHaven ran for 235 yards and one touchdown to lead Albert Gallatin (4-3) to the nonconference win against Clear Spring (Md.) (3-2).

Carrick 44, Brownsville 0 — In nonconference play, Carrick (2-4) shut out Brownsville (0-5).

Central Catholic 56, Shaler 7 — Class 6A No. 1 Central Catholic (5-2) defeated Class 5A Shaler (2-5).

Connellsville 17, North Star 7 — Connellsville (2-5) defeated North Star (5-2) in a nonconference game.

Franklin Regional 51, Fox Chapel 14 — Kyle Dupill ran for 272 yards and four touchdowns as Franklin Regional (6-1) defeated Fox Chapel (1-5) in nonconference play. Chase Lemke threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns for Franklin Regional. Victor Nernberg and Cooper Hendron scored Fox Chapel’s touchdowns.

University (W.Va.) 17, Butler 13 — Jack Byrer tossed for 109 yards and ran for a touchdown as University (W.Va.) (2-3) beat Butler (3-4) in nonconference play. Nicholas Baggetta ran for both Butler touchdowns.

City League

Perry 28, Brashear 6 — In the City League, Perry (1-4, 1-3) beat Brashear (0-7, 0-4) for its first victory.
