Michael J. Anthony, 81, of Unity Township, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, at his home. Born Aug. 28, 1943, in Uniontown, PA, he was the son of the late Michael J. Anthony and Anna (Pope) Anthony. Michael was a member of Saint Vincent Basilica Parish, Latrobe, and the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 1275, Uniontown. He served his county in the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement, he had been a highway design supervisor for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, District 12, Uniontown, with 35 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie George; and two sisters, Marion Sutherland and Gerry DeLong. Michael is survived by his wife, Laura (DeOre) Zambruno Anthony of Greensburg; three daughters, Jacqueline Scott and husband Mark, of Fairport, NY, Michele George and husband Richard, of Dunbar, PA and Kelly Anthony of Uniontown, PA; stepdaughter, Anissa Zambruno of Greensburg, PA; stepson, Shawn Zambruno and wife Kim, of Mt. Pleasant, PA; grandchildren, Christian Lewis and husband Keith, Mary Sue Namestnik and husband Erik, Nelson Scott and wife Laura Weiland, Anna George, and Mara Brant; step-grandchildren Olivia, Abby, Ella, and Meghan Zambruno; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Benjamin, and Julie Namestnik; sister, Kay Resh, and husband Tom, of McKeesport, PA; and numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at St. Vincent Basilica, Latrobe. Interment will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery with military honors accorded by the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg.
