Congratulations to Blessed Francis Seelos Academy eighth grader Lily Narvett on being named a Carson Scholar. The Carson Scholars Fund awards $1,000 college scholarships to students in grades 4-11 who excel academically with a minimum GPA of 3.75 and are dedicated to serving their communities. Only one student per school can receive this award each year. The recipients of this award were recognized at a banquet by the founder of the scholarship, Dr. Benjamin Carson with his wife, Mrs. Lacena Carson, on April 7 at Acrisure Stadium.

Lily is very active in her school, church, and community with over 95 hours of service this year. She volunteers at a STEM camp, Girl Scout camp, a food pantry in Beaver County, with young dancers at her dance studio, at Saint Aidan's Parish Fish Fry, and also their Harvest Home Dinner. Lily always has a smile on her face with a pleasant, caring demeanor. "Lily is a student that is always cheerful and willing to help in any situation. Her work ethic and dedication to service made her a worthy candidate for this award and she is a great example of how our student body practices what is taught in our Catholic school," stated Mr. Robert Reese, Seelos Academy Principal.

Lily is the daughter of Alison and Alex Narvett of Baden. She plans to attend North Catholic High School in the fall and continue to participate in service opportunities.
