Allegiant Air has added nonstop service from Pittsburgh International Airport to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
The budget carrier announced on Friday the new route will offer up to two flights weekly.
Allegiant said it will fly an Airbus-320, with capacity for up to 186 passengers, on the route.
It said introductory one-way fares will begin at $65 for limited seats and dates purchased by Sunday, for travel by May 4.
“Allegiant is a great partner and is celebrating 10 years of investment in Pittsburgh this year with 15 routes and a crew base in our market,” said Bryan Dietz, senior vice president for air service and commercial development at Pittsburgh International Airport. “We look forward to continued partnership with Allegiant as they grow in the Pittsburgh market.”
Other destinations Allegiant reaches from Pittsburgh International include: Austin, Texas; Nashville, Tenn.; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and Savannah, Ga.
The Las Vegas-based airline also offers routes from Pittsburgh to several Florida destinations, including Jacksonville, West Palm Beach, Key West and Sarasota.
