Kenneth M. Winwood passed away at his home on May 8, 2024, at age 72. Ken was born on December 14, 1951, in Springdale, to the late Edward and Elaine (Martin) Winwood. He graduated from Springdale High school in 1970. He served his community as Springdale Township tax collector for several years and spent most of his professional career with the Pittsburgh Port Authority until he retired in 2005. He was a NASCAR fan and traveled to many big races in the family RV with his wife, sons, and friends. In his younger days, Ken was an avid runner who pushed himself to run the endless incline of Pillow Avenue in Cheswick. At home, Ken could be found working in his shed and on many improvement projects with his brother-in-law Jim. Most recently, he enjoyed spending time with the Breakfast Club at Eat n' Park on Thursday mornings with his son Cory and 'very best friend' Howie. Ken is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Kathryn (Arch) Winwood; his two sons, Michael (April) Winwood and Cory (Natalie) Winwood; and his grandson, Elias Joseph (EJ). In addition to his wife and children, Ken is also survived by loving in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elaine; his older brother, Ronald Winwood; and his beloved grandmother, Pauline Martin; his nephew, Christopher Winwood and wife, Bonnie.
