James David Grossman, 88, of Greensburg (Unity Township), died Monday, Sept. 9, 2024. He was born March 2, 1936, a son of the late Paul Grossman and Ruth Riding Rosendick Grossman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonita M. 'Bonnie' Wonderly Grossman; his sons, James D. Grossman, Jr., and Glenn Grossman; his granddaughter, Jamie; also, four sisters and one brother. He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Grossman (Jennifer) and Jonathon Grossman (Amy); his daughters, Christine Highland and Cynthia Rush (Donald); 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; also, daughter-in-law, Tina Grossman. He also fathered 56 foster children. Jim was a tool and die maker and worked for several companies over the span of his career. Jim will be remembered as the guy that everyone called on when anything needed to be fixed. Family, friend, or stranger, it didn't matter; he would set off, tool pouch in his hand, and the problem was solved. He was 'dad' to the numerous children that passed through their home. He walked the floors and sang many a fussy baby to sleep with the patience of a saint. Jim was the best friend, mentor, and hero to all of his children and grandchildren. It is very possible that Jim's soul left this earth eight years ago, with the passing of the love of his life, Bonnie, and now his body has joined her. He always said he loved his family. Well, his family truly loved him. He will be greatly missed. At the request of the family, private services will be held. Arrangements are being handled by KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, Greensburg.
