The calculation 2-plus-2-plus-2 equals the sum total of players on the Quaker Valley girls lacrosse team who earned Section 2-A distinction in 2025.
Junior midfielders Lucy Roig and senior goalkeeper Emily Reiner were honored as first-team all-section selections. Both girls made all-section last year as well.
“Lucy has done a tremendous job this season, not only in her ability to score goals but also in her dominance on the draw,” QV coach Laura Peery said. “She has been instrumental in helping us maintain possession, winning over 100 draw controls this season alone.”
Reiner limited 13 of 16 opponents to single digits and recorded 154 total saves in the regular season. She posted a 5.4 goals-against average and .691 save percentage.
“Emily is the heart of Quaker Valley girls lacrosse,” Peery said. “She anchored this team for the past four years with integrity, grit and intrepidity. We are incredibly grateful to have had such a strong leader in the cage.
“She is one of the most steadfast players I’ve ever coached; nothing shakes her. Her teammates trust her completely. She will be incredibly hard to replace next year.”
Second-team all-section status was awarded to junior midfielders Meredith Fallgren and Alexa Westwood.
“Meredith was instrumental in winning the draw this season,” Peery said. “Her quickness off the line helped her secure 60 draw controls. She is a workhorse on the field, constantly hustling and using her incredible speed to make plays.
“As one of our top defenders, she consistently matched up against tough opponents and played a key role in keeping our opponents’ scores low.”
Westwood recently committed to contining her career at Grove City College.
“Alexa has also made a huge impact on our success,” Peery said. “She’s developed a strong, accurate shot and works hard to continually refine her skills and develop new strategies to break through opposing defenses.
“She’s a true team player who excels at setting up her teammates for scoring opportunities. She has already amassed over 100 career points.”
Senior defenders Ruby Krotine and Lily Pulkowski received all-section honorable mention plaudits.
“Ruby played low defense and excelled at shutting down plays around the crease,” Peery said. “Tenacious and vocal, she helped organize and inspire our defensive unit throughout the season, bringing energy and confidence to the back line.
“Lily is an aggressive low defender who caused several turnovers this season and played a crucial role in our transition game. She led by example and helped direct the defense on the field, providing stability and leadership in key moments.”
The QV girls qualified for the PIAA Class 2A playoffs by defeating Indiana, 12-3, Seton LaSalle, 16-3, and Blackhawk, 13-9, in the district tournament before losing to Chartiers Valley, 10-8, in the semifinal round.
“I think the girls played exceptionally well,” Peery said. “After a few early season losses to Blackhawk and Chartiers Valley, they were disappointed but they responded with determination.
“They set their minds on proving they could compete with both teams the second time around. Our semifinal (playoff) match was one of our best games all season. The girls played as a true team and were determined to fight until the very end.”
Quaker Valley won eight of its last nine regular-season games and took a five-game winning streak into the WPIAL playoffs.
Roig netted 21 goals in QV’s four district playoff games, giving her 57 in 2025 and 195 for her career. She scored 76 goals as a freshman and 62 last year.
The junior midfielder tied her single-game career-high goal total with eight against Blackhawk. Westwood added three goals and two assists.
“I’m very proud of how far we have come,” Roig said. “We have improved so much and making state playoffs proves that. We play hard no matter what is happening, and we stay positive.”
Westwood accounted for 35 regular-season goals and led the squad in assists with 25. She connected for a career-high five goals against Indiana.
“I feel our team grew as the season went on,” Westwood said. “We’ve had a chance to win any game because of our goalie, Emily Reiner. Emily is very talented and has over 600 saves in her career.
“The team has a lot of experience on defense and our offense, led by Lucy and Meredith, can score goals.”

QV’s playoff lineup consisted of freshman Kate Miller, juniors Mia Floro and Lily Millet and sophomore Anna Campbell at attack; Roig, Westwood and Fallgren at midfield; Pulkowski, Krotine and seniors Nora Hammond and Grace Wiehe on defense, with Reiner at the goalkeeper position.
The Quakers (11-6) lost 18-7 to District 3 champion Wyomissing (20-0) June 3 in the first round of the PIAA playoffs.
QV’s veteran coach said she was excited that her team was able to extend its season into the state tournament.
“It’s a privilege to face the top teams in the state,” Peery said, “and even the country.”
