Quiet Reading Party

Haven’t managed to finish that beach read just yet? Is the hustle and bustle keeping you from curling up in a cozy corner for an afternoon? Check out the Silent Reading Party this Saturday at the main branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh in Oakland.

The party will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, with the time from 2 to 2:30 p.m. dedicated to arriving, finding a comfortable place in the first-floor quiet reading room and even snagging a free cup of coffee, tea or a pastry. From 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., attendees will quietly engross themselves in their chosen book. Then, from 3:30 to 4 p.m., everyone will get a chance to socialize and discuss what they’ve been reading.

The event is free. RSVP at carnegielibrary.org.
