Goaltender Magnus Hellberg made 23 saves on 27 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 5-3 road loss to the Rochester Americans at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, N.Y. on Friday.

The result dropped Hellberg’s record to 8-7-2.

Defensemen Ryan Shea, Ty Smith and forward Radim Zohorna scored goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (25-17-6-1).

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Laval Rocket on Saturday, 6:05 p.m.

The Wheeling Nailers’ franchise record 12-game winning streak was snapped with a 4-2 road loss to the Utah Grizzlies at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah.

Another win would have set a new record for the franchise — since it moved to Wheeling, W.Va. in 1992 — as the current squad had tied the mark set by the 2003-04 team.

Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 39 saves on 42 shots as his record tumbled to 18-11-1.

Defensemen Isaac Belliveau and Louie Roehl each scored goals for Wheeling (28-17-1-1).
