Lite-Up Night in Shaler
Shaler will kick off the holiday season with Lite-Up Night, scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 23 at Shaler North Hills Library and Shaler Middle School, Mt. Royal Boulevard.
A parade with Santa and Holiday Characters will be followed by the tree lighting at 4:45. Featured are:
• Visiting and photos with Santa
• Fire pits with s’mores
• Cookie decorating at 5:30, while supplies last
• Ice skating, with skates available at no charge
• Horse-drawn carriage rides

All-you-can-eat pancakes
Scouts BSA Troop 138 will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 23 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1719 Mt. Royal Blvd., Shaler.

The price includes pancakes (plain, chocolate chip or blueberry), sausage and drinks (coffee, tea, milk or orange juice). Prices are $9 for adults, $7 for seniors 55 and older, and $6 for children, veterans active-duty service members, and first responders.
No Shave November
Shaler police announce the fifth annual participation in No Shave November, with officers getting scruffy to help raise awareness and funds for cancer research and treatment.
This year, the police have elected to donate all funds received to the Pittsburgh Hearts of Steel nonprofit breast cancer organization.
All participating officers have pledged a donation, and community members can make tax-deductible contributions by visiting www.shaler.org/FormCenter/Police-Department-5/No-Shave-November-2024-201.
Small Business Saturday
Millvale’s Small Business Saturday is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 30 at 30-plus locations, with free treats at each.
The event is presented by the Millvale Community Development Corp.
Reserve Light-Up Night
Light-Up Night in Reserve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at 33 Lonsdale St. Featured will be:
• Food and beverage trucks — Hummus Pittsburgh and Chicks n’ Waffles, Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck

Millvale senior holiday lunch
Mayor Brian Spoales and Millvale Borough Council will present the annual senior holiday luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 8 at the Millvale Community Center, 416 Lincoln Ave.

Reserve’s Lunch with Santa Claus is scheduled for noon Dec. 8 at the Mt. Troy Ballroom, 33 Lonsdale St. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m.

Shaler luminary kits
Luminary kits are available in Shaler for $10. The kit includes 12 bags, 12 votive candles and sand.
Residents are asked light up their walkway or driveway with the luminaries on Dec. 1.

Paint Night in Etna
Pop-Up Paint Night is scheduled for 6 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at Emmanual Lutheran Church, 66 Grant Ave., Etna.
