George William (Bill) Clark, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024, in Memphis, TN. Bill was born in 1943 in Greensburg, to George and Elizabeth (Stein) Clark. He was a 1961 graduate of Greensburg Salem High School. In 1967 he wed Carol Lawrence, a union which lasted until her death 53 years later. They had two children together, Cheryl and David. Bill lived all of his life in Greensburg until 2018, when he and Carol moved to Memphis, TN. Prior to moving to Memphis, Bill spent his days volunteering for Tri-City Meals on Wheels and serving as treasurer for Westminster Presbyterian Church. He also enjoyed working on computer equipment, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and spending time with his grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol; and a brother, James (Patty) Clark. Bill's memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family: daughter, Cheryl (Tom) Murphy of Collierville, TN; son, David Clark of Langhorne, PA; granddaughters, Abigail Murphy of Atlanta, GA and Olivia Murphy of Collierville, TN; and brother, John Clark of Greensburg. A service to honor the lives of Bill and his beloved wife, Carol, will be held in Greensburg in the coming weeks. The family would like to thank the staff at Signature Healthcare of Memphis and Baptist Trinity Hospice for the exceptional care they provided Bill over the last year. ~Say not in grief 'he is no more' but in thankfulness that he was.
