South Hills senior softball league

The South Hills Senior Softball league, which has been organizing games for players 55 and up for more than 30 years, is seeking new players as it prepares for its 2025 season.

Games are played on weekday evenings at various South Hills fields — in South Park, Bethel Park, Baldwin, Pleasant Hills and Brentwood — from early May until mid-August. Tryouts for new players will be held in early April. The registration fee is $85. Players typically have two games per week.

“We offer one of the best ways for older adults to get some exercise, have fun and laughs, and meet lots of new people,” said Bob Hagerty, the league’s commissioner. “You don’t have to be a great athlete, though you do need to be able to trot around the bases and stop a ball now and then.”

For a registration form or more information, email Hagerty at jamesrhagerty888@gmail.com or call him at 412-417-5415.
