Sharon Lee (Rush) Peckman quietly passed away in her home on May 3, 2024. She was a graduate of Penn Hills High School and CCAC, where she began her career as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. Sharon excelled in her career because she loved working with and helping others to be their best selves. She loved her family and friends with the same passion. When she retired, due to her health problems, she didn't let her physical limitations hold her back. She became even more passionate in her love for God and the people around her. Sharon knew no strangers because everyone she met became friends. Although her heart was broken by the loss of her beloved husband, son, brother, parents and many fur babies, in a short time, she dove deep into her passions to help those around her. For years, she made and donated diaper cakes to help Genesis House. A ministry to support young women with unexpected pregnancies. She also made contributions to Hope Rising Church to assist with their Recovery House. She donated a pair of special shoes on behalf of her son, Michael, to help those struggling to recover from addiction. Please consider volunteering or donating to one of these organizations in her honor. Sharon was preceded in death by the loves of her life, Frank J. Peckman III, her son, Michael J. Peckman, her father, Donald L. Rush, her mother, Catherine J. (Case) Rush, and her brother, Douglas P. Rush. She is survived by her 3 grandchildren (Julie, Martin, Thomas), her sweet sisters Izzy and Altynai (to whom she was a second mom) and her sisters and brother in-laws, Lutricia (Robert) Menges and Sheila (Robert) Wagner. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and fur babies, whom she loved deeply. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Covenant Church of Pittsburgh, 2110 Andrews Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15221 @ 11 a.m.. The family will begin greeting guests at 10:30.
