Florence E. Lee, 100, a resident of Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg, formerly of Jeannette, passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024. She was born March 5, 1923, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of the late Curtis and Helen (Rosky) Smith. Florence was a graduate of the Jeannette High School, Class of 1942, and then married John Lee, the love of her life. She spent all of her working career in ladies wear shops on Clay Avenue in Jeannette, including Wieners, Ratners, Eleanors, Glenn Richards and Langs, where she was well-known for her pleasant disposition and helpfulness. Her real passion was baking cookies. Family and friends will always remember the many trays of delicious cookies she produced for the holidays. Florence belonged to a travel club and did travel for many years, seeing much of the U.S. and Europe and cruising the Caribbean and Alaska. In addition to her parents, Florence was predeceased by her husband, John Lee; and three brothers, Thomas, Richard and Eugene Smith. She is survived by her nieces, Anita Moran (Joseph), of Pittsburgh, and Christine Smith, of Louisville, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Barbara Smith, of Greensburg; and a cousin Patricia Wirth, of Franklin. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette. A funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Deacon William Newhouse presiding. Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
