Charlotte L. Sonafelt, 96, of Greensburg, and formerly of Monessen, Latrobe, and Rostraver Township, passed away May 16, in Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, with family by her side. She was a resident of Westmoreland Manor. She was born Aug. 1st, 1927, in Allegheny County. In addition to her mother, Thelma Lochrie; and stepfather, Edward Smith; she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Jack L. Sonafelt in 2012; and her siblings, Donn and Lionel Smith, and Nova Nole. She was a graduate of Monessen High School, and later in life in 1975, got her degree in nursing at Florida School of Nursing. She had worked as an L.P.N. at Westmoreland Manor, Redstone, and Green Meadows. She had been a member of the Order Of Eastern Star and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greensburg. Surviving are her children, Linda L. Williams, and husband, Roger Lee, of O'Fallon, IL, Susan Meek, and husband, Temple, of Hartwell, GA, D. Judson, and wife, Brenda, of Mt. Airy, GA, Jack A., and wife, Mitzi, of Winchester TN, James E., and wife, Stephanie, of Unity Township, and Carrie States, and husband, Ronald, of Greensburg; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces; nephews; and close friend, Jean Heinrichs. As per Charlotte's request she was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a future date.
