Diane Z. Jackson, beloved mother, proud grandmother, dear sister, and compassionate friend, passed peacefully at home on July 1, 2024. She is reunited in heaven with her husband of 38 years, David F. Jackson, and will be rewarded for a lifetime of faith and fellowship. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Mike Berry; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Nicole Jackson; and grandchildren Ella, Trent, and Luke; her daughter and partner Julia Jackson and Colby Uplinger; and grandson, Foster Jackson; her sister, Barbara Whitmer; and her brother and sister-in-law, Paul (Carl) and Bella Zugates. Born on May 24, 1944, to the late Paul and Beda Zugates, she was raised in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh and graduated from Peabody High School in 1962. She competed in local beauty pageants, winning the titles of Miss Mellon Bank, Miss Red Feather, and Miss Boat Show, as well as being a finalist for Miss Allegheny County 1970. Her talent was sewing her own competition clothing. While working as a secretary at Mellon Bank, she met the love of her life, David, and they married in 1976. They started their family while living in Churchill and moved to Washington Township, Westmoreland County in the early 1980s. She returned to work at Erie Insurance in Murrysville until retirement. Diane took care of those she loved unselfishly and wholeheartedly and taught her family the value of love and loyalty. The family would like to thank Stephanie DeMaio for her care and friendship.
