James S. 'Jay' Harris, 60, of Latrobe, passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024, in Independence Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born Jan. 4, 1964, in Latrobe, a son of James E. Harris Jr. and Bonnie L. (Hamilton) Harris of Latrobe. Jay was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Latrobe. He was also a member and Chaplain for the Latrobe Fraternal Order of Eagles Tony Angelo Aerie #01188. Prior to becoming ill, he played the drums and sang with local country-western bands since he was 16 years old. In addition to his parents, Jay is survived by a sister, Linda Kozemchok (Bob); a brother, Harry 'Skip' Shawley; niece, Brooke Roddy; nephews, Christopher Mitchell and Tyler Kozemchok; three children, Jenna Harris, Brandon Harris, and Colin Cox; and six grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday, Aug. 19, from 4 until 7 p.m., in the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery.
