Pittsburgh police said a dispute over the cleanliness of a house Monday afternoon led to the fatal shooting of a man in the city’s South Side Slopes neighborhood.

Eddie Kimber, 25, of South Oakland was shot inside a Sharon Street home and transported to UPMC Mercy, where he died shortly before 5 p.m. Monday.

Police have charged Pittsburgh residents Destiny Jenkins, 23, and Lee McGinnis, 24, with homicide. McGinnis faces additional charges for felony aggravated assault and illegal possession of a firearm, a misdemeanor.

First responders were called to a home at the intersection of Sharon and Mount Oliver streets just before 4:25 p.m., where they found a male victim who’d been shot in the back. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died, police said.

Police said McGinnis shot Kimber as Jenkins attacked the victim’s sister. The couple was detained at a nearby Sunoco, the complaint continues, and later explained how Jenkins unsuccessfully tried to fire the weapon before passing it to McGinnis.

As of early Tuesday morning, both were still awaiting arraignment, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
