3 injured in shooting in Pittsburgh’s Northview Heights
Three people were injured after at least 20 rounds were fired during a shooting early Thursday in Pittsburgh’s Northview Heights neighborhood.
Pittsburgh police said they were dispatched to the 800 block of Mount Pleasant Road about 1:15 a.m. after two separate ShotSpotter alerts came in, registering a total of 20 rounds.
They found three victims inside a home, police said. The victims were standing on a porch when the shooting occurred.
A woman was found with a gunshot wound to her hip and two men were shot in their shoulder and ankle, respectively, police said.
The victims were taken to an area hospital in critical condition and rushed into surgery.
Police said they later responded to a car crash at the intersection of East Street and East North Avenue. There, they found another man who had been shot in the back.
It was unclear whether the man had a connection to the earlier shooting. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
Police are investigating.
Man shot in knee along Banksville Road
A man was injured Wednesday night after being shot in the knee in Pittsburgh.
Police from Pittsburgh’s Zone 6 were dispatched to the 2900 block of Banksville Road in the city’s Banksville neighborhood about 7:30 p.m., police said.
Officers said they found a 28-year-old man, who they did not name, with a single gunshot wound to the knee. Paramedics took him to an area hospital in critical but stable condition.
Police said there is no risk at this time to the public. The investigation is ongoing.
South Side patrol report
The latest South Side patrol report from the Pittsburgh police shows 18 arrests and 31 traffic stops along the East Carson Street business corridor from Oct. 21 through Monday.
Police issued 39 non-traffic citations and one traffic citation, they said. They also recovered six guns.
The information covers the past two weeks in the city’s South Side neighborhood.
