Police seek Duquesne Club burglars
Pittsburgh police are seeking information on two men who attempted to burglarize the Duquesne Club on Aug. 27.
Police said two suspects entered through an open window shortly before midnight Aug. 27, after gaining access from the adjacent parking garage.
Once inside, police said they were scared off by an employee and dropped several of the items they planned to steal.
Anyone with information is asked to call 412-255-6787 and ask for plainclothes detectives.
New Kensington-Arnold schools on 2-hour delay
The New Kensington-Arnold School District enacted a two-hour delay for students Friday, district officials announced Thursday night.
“The decision to delay was made between district administration and law enforcement officials while an active investigation is conducted in the community,” Superintendent Christopher Sefcheck said in a message to district parents.
New Kensington Police Department officials declined to comment on the nature of the investigation.
Allentown fire knocked down; 1 to hospital
A man was taken to the hospital in critical condition following a brief fire Thursday at an apartment building in Pittsburgh’s Allentown neighborhood.
Police said the fire, which broke out around 11:30 a.m. on the 800 block of East Warrington Avenue, was contained to a single apartment unit, however the man suffered severe smoke inhalation. Police said about a dozen other residents were treated at the scene for mild smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials from the Red Cross coordinated relief efforts for affected residents.
Pittsburgh police seek missing woman
Pittsburgh police are seeking information on a 39-year-old woman reported missing and at-risk.
Tara Nolan was in contact with family Thursday, and believed last to be in the area of Allegheny Commons on Cedar Avenue in the city’s North Side neighborhood.
