After spending the recent high school season competing against Lincoln Park’s Brandin Cummings, Hampton’s Liam Mignogna will join him in 2024-25.
Mignogna, a 6-foot-9 center, will enter the Pitt program as a preferred walk-on after he concludes his senior year this spring. Pitt’s recruiting class includes signed recruits Cummings, a 6-3 guard, and 6-10 forward Amdy N’Diaye.
Cummings led Lincoln Park to victories against Hampton (25-5) in the WPIAL championship game and PIAA semifinals.
Mignogna, the cousin of former Pitt player Ryan Luther, averaged more than 20 points per game in the postseason and reached a total of 1,012 his final high school game. He scored 29 in the WPIAL title game against Lincoln Park at Petersen Events Center and 23 in the PIAA semifinals.
He averaged 13.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while shooting 68% from the field for the season.
