George Edward Rain, 76, of North Irwin, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 8, 2024. He was born Oct. 12, 1947, in Greensburg, and was the son of the late George R. and Dorothy L. (Plank) Rain. Prior to his retirement, George worked as an insulator at Insulators Local No. 2. He also was a member of Shidle Lodge, No. 601, F. & A. M., Irwin. George loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed bass fishing, camping, golf, watching sports, trips to the casino, and vacations with his family. George was an avid Steelers fan and long-time season ticket holder. He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 48 years, Mildred Ann 'Millie' (Helbling) Rain; daughter, Michelle Ann (James) Ogg of North Huntingdon; granddaughter, Alivia Rain Ogg; sister, Mary Lou (Ralph) Kimmel of Irwin; nieces and nephews, Cristi Kimmel, Christopher (Kristen) Kimmel, Stephanie (Andrew) Troutman, Mary Lynn (Skip) Fick, David (Robyn) Kozlowski, Sandra Kozlowski, and Jill Ream; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and his dog, Milo. He was a wonderful man who would do anything for anybody. He will be truly missed by all who loved him.
