Richard "Rick" Edwin Amy, 70, of Natrona Heights, PA, passed away Thursday, May 16th, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, after a very short but courageous battle with brain cancer. Rick was born in Butler, PA on May 24, 1953, a son of the late Sara L. (Johnson) and Ralph "Bud" Amy. Rick retired after 30 years, from Allegheny Ludlum, where he worked in the storeroom and met his wife, Barbara. Rick loved his family dearly and enjoyed traveling, camping, model trains and playing guitar. He had an impressive LEGO village with trains in his home, that was something to be proud of. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Kowola; a daughter, Melissa (Randal) Thompson, of Evans City; two sons, Richard A. Amy, of Butler, and Timothy R. (Trisha) Amy, of Butler. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Madison Troutman (Elijah Goosby) and Maegan Troutman; and a great-granddaughter, Elliona Mae. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David C. Amy. Friends will be received on Monday, May 20, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, INC., 524 High Street, Freeport. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Lee Genter officiating. Private burial will be held in Mt. Airy Cemetery Natrona Heights.
