Lawrence A. Hornick, 78, of Bullskin Township, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital. Mr. Hornick was born March 28, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant, to the late Joseph and Sophie Smulski Hornick. Larry was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, where he was an altar boy and server growing up. Larry went to Visitation Parish School until the 8th grade and attended East Huntingdon High School. He was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, sitting on the front porch enjoying the view, and cutting grass all while having a smile on his face. Larry also enjoyed polka music, and listening to his favorite Johnny Cash, who he got to see in person at the Uniontown State Theatre. Larry is survived by his loving family, his niece with whom he resided, Cynthia Haines (Roger); his nephew, Richard Haas; and by his cousins, Betty Lou Wacko, and Colt Fosbrink (Brittany) and their son, Apollo. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph E. Hornick in 2011, Dorothy Hornick in 1994, and Mary Louise Haas in 2022; his brother-in-law, John Haas in 2012; and his best friend and faithful canine companion, Georgie. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME INC., 204 Eagle Street, Mt. Pleasant.
