If the company's entire request is approved, the total bill for a residential customer who purchases 70 therms of gas from Columbia would decrease from $87.14 to $84.93 per month or by 2.54%. The total bill for a commercial customer purchasing 158 therms of gas from Columbia per month would decrease from $145.65 to $140.65 per month or by 3.43%. Rates effective for an industrial customer purchasing 1,328 therms of gas from Columbia per month would produce a bill decrease from $1,005.83 to $963.80 per month or by 4.18%. While this rate decrease will affect primarily the rates of those customers who purchase their gas from Columbia, it may also have an impact on the rates of those customers who purchase their gas from other natural gas suppliers under Choice® service. In accordance with PUC regulations, Columbia is permitted to revise its gas cost rates on a quarterly basis, if the recalculated rate differs from the rate that is finally determined in this case by more than two percent.
