Bush Kitchen Center was started in 1963 in the family garage of George Bush Sr. and his wife Dorothy. George Sr. was already known as a high end quality craftman from building homes with his father in the area. He decided to start his own business building quality custom cabinetry. In 1965 he expanded his operation into a building on his property that would house his new workshop and showroom. Then in 1966 it was known as Geo. J. Bush Tappan Kitchen Center, where it still sold his own cabinets along with Tappan appliances and cabinets. Then in 1969 he still made cabinets but also took on some custom lines of cabinetry made by others such as Mutchler and later Delwood Custom Cabinetry, Quality Custom Cabinetry, and Country Kraft to name a few. They also made countertops of Corian, Formica and Wilson Art in house. In 1985 the business became incorporated, George Sr. made his son George J. Bush Jr the President/Treasurer of the business and it became Geo. J. Bush Kitchen Center Inc. George Jr. the current sole owner worked full time in the business since 1974 learning the trade from his father doing designs, sales, job site installations, and running the workshop. George Sr. and Dorothy retired around 1988. In 2005 George Bush III came to work here in the business, he learned all aspects of the trade from his father and grandfather. George III also does designs, builds, sales, and runs the new workshop and the finish area of our products. Today the Geo. J. Bush Kitchen Center Inc. still exists on 4th Avenue, doing the same quality custom woodworking of Kitchen cabinetry, specially made quality Vanities, Countertops and plumbing, electrical, wall work, and all aspects of installation. We no longer sell appliances but we will install them in our kitchens. We are pleased to have three generations of craftsmen that are able to offer our customers this high end quality workmanship by very skilled craftsmen. We appreciate all of the customers that have come to our business over these years. We have been a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association since 1974 and we are celebrating 60 years of being in business. If you are in the market for new cabinetry, or a vanity, Countertops stop in our new showroom located at 1279 W. 4th Ave. in Derry and see George Jr or George III they can design and build anything you can imagine. 60 YEARS Since 1963 g GEO .
