Opening Feathers Artist Market has been a life long dream of mine. Ever since I was a child, I have treasured going to small towns, and looking around the unique boutiques. My Mom and Dad would bring us to Downtown Irwin to shop, and have lunch. I love to give gifts, and makes someone's day extra special. I love to create art, and I’m inspired by other artists. My Grandpap was a painter, and we grew up watching him paint beautiful landscapes. He would often give his paintings away to family and friends. I have been a member of the Norwin Art League since 1997. My kids also enjoy art. They like to draw, paint and create.
When I saw the For Lease sign on 4th Street- I was at a crossroads in my life. I had to reinvent myself... I decided to create Feathers Artist Market, with the things I love in mind... Feathers Artist Market is three businesses in one. I have a gift shop that offers fun, sentimental, local, fair trade, and silly gifts for all occasions. I love to help someone find that perfect gift to make someone smile and / or laugh through a hard time. I love that gift that brightens someone’s day, and I love that gift says you are thinking of them -just because. It is an Art Gallery that features a local artist each month. I showcase the artist in the gallery space. We have an opening night with local music, appetizers, and refreshments. It is a way for the public to meet the artist and celebrate them along with friends and family. Each month this room transforms with each artist's vision. My gallery space is also where I teach painting classes. There are kids classes, Birthday celebrations, Girls night outs, fund raisers and couples classes... I teach private Paint parties and Public holiday paint classes. There are event workshops offered at Feathers. I love to help others with a vision. We have Yoga classes, Meditation, Vision Board Classes, Aromatherapy, Music, and so much more.
