About
We at Ross G. Walker Funeral Home and Cremation Services are committed to caring for your family with the highest level of professionalism, empathy, and sensitivity. We are locally owned and operated, and our mission is to provide exemplary service to the families in our area.
The funeral home was founded in 1894 and has been owned and operated by the Walker family since 1948. In the early days, funeral director Ross G. Walker, Jr., along with his wife, Virginia Willitt Walker, oversaw the daily operations of the funeral home. Mr. Walker, Jr., was joined by his son, licensed funeral director Ross G. Walker, III, in 1978. In 1981, his daughter, Lisa A. Walker, also a funeral director, joined the family business. Ross G. Walker, Jr., passed away in 2004, but the Walker’s still take great pride in being a family serving families. The Walker family has been providing service to many of our neighbors for generations.
Ross G. Walker, III, considers it to be an honor and a privilege to work with families in their greatest time of need. Says Mr. Walker, “Funeral service is my lifetime ministry, and I am very grateful to the all of the families that entrust us with the care of their loved one at the most difficult time of their lives. Our funeral home exists to be of service to our neighbors.”
Looking to the future, Mr. Walker is also pleased to announce that his son, Ross G. Walker, IV, who is currently a student at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, will soon join him in the family business as a funeral director.
The Ross G. Walker Funeral Home is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to assist you in your time of need. Our goal is to make a difficult time as easy possible for our families by providing unparalleled service and support.
