David Brian Adams, 60, of Murrysville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sept. 9, 2024, surrounded by his family and beloved dog, Petey. Dave was born on April 9, 1964, to Nelda Regina and the late Edward 'Ace' Adams. After graduating from Penn Hills High School in 1983, Dave enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served from 1983 until 1986. He was honorably discharged in 1986, holding the rank of Lance Corporal. Dave went on to earn his private detective license, which kicked off an 18-year career as a private detective. Dave finished his career as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service and retired in 2014. Throughout his life, Dave was an athlete who enjoyed playing and coaching softball with his friends. In 2002, Dave was awarded a spot on the NSA All World Team in Kissimmee, FL, which he was so proud of. His family was the light of his life. Whether it was taking a vacation to the beach, watching and coaching his children and being part of his children's accomplishments, golfing with family and friends, or simply going to dinner with his wife, Maureen, these are things he cherished. Dave loved the simple things in life. Golfing with his sons David and Ryan, going to the local swimming pool with his daughter Rachel, sharing cooking recipes with family and friends, or taking a ride on his John Deere; he treasured it all. Dave was a true warrior and always lived his life with the 'glass half full' mentality. He was a true inspiration to everyone around him. Dave was the beloved husband of 31 years to Maureen (Kerston) Adams, loving father of Rachel Nicole Adams, David Michael Adams, and Ryan Ace Adams, and stepfather to the late Anthony Brandon Lujetic. Brother of Lee Adams, Jody O'Connor, and the late Edward Adams. Uncle to Elyse (Adams) Hacke, Maureen (O'Connor) Funkhouser, David O'Connor, and Brian Adams; and many great-nieces and nephews. Dave was loved by so many including Kathy DiMartini, Eileen and Edward Iandiorio, Ronald Kerston, Raymond Kerston, Jr., Janice and Michael Parrish, Michael Hacke, David Funkhouser, Erica O'Connor, and many more. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, and from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday Sept. 13, 2024, at the MAURICE L. KNEE LTD., FUNERAL HOM, INC., 7663 Saltsburg Road, Plum, PA 15239. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at St. Susanna R. C. Church of Christ the Divine Parish, 200 Stotler Road, Penn Hills, PA 15235. Interment with US Marine Corps funeral honors will follow in Plum Creek Cemetery.
