Mafalda Melago, 96, of Latrobe, passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024. She was born Sept. 13, 1927, in Latrobe, the daughter of the late James and Clara (Pricor) Angelo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Melago; her brother, Tony Angelo; and granddaughter-in-law, Kara Campbell. Affectionately known as Muffy, Mom, Grandma, Grandma Muffy, and Aunt Muffy, she is survived by her two children, Gloria Campbell (Patrick), and William Melago (Lisa); her brother, Thomas Angelo; six grandchildren, Pat Campbell (Cathy), Chris Campbell, Lisa Schaefer (Todd), Mark Melago (Gena), Matt Melago (Nikki), and Nicholas Melago (Cara); eleven great-grandchildren; Anthony Zenobi, Alyssa Matula (Blake), Brennan, Tess and Brody Campbell, Nigel and Julia Schaefer, Bianca and Clara Melago, and William and Lilly Melago; a great-great-grandson, Ryker Matula; and many dear friends. Muffy was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Latrobe, and served as a CCD Teacher, a Latrobe School Crossing Guard, and was one of the original members of the Latrobe Fourth of July Committee. She was also a nanny to two wonderful families that she never forgot, and they never forgot her. Honoring her wishes, there will be no viewing or visitation and interment will be private.
