Treat your pup to some gobble-worthy gour-mutt food at Milo’s Kitchen Treat Truck, which will stop by during Pittsburgh Pirates Pup Night on Aug. 5 at PNC Park. Guests do not need to have a baseball game ticket to participate, as the truck will be stationed from 5 to 9 p.m. outside the stadium in the parking lot. The truck began its 16-city tour in San Francisco on June 30 and has made stops in other major cities like Los Angeles, Phoenix, Detroit and Chicago. Now, the doggie meal mobile is headed to the Steel City, home of its parent company Big Heart Pet Brands, formerly Del Monte Foods. Chrissy Trampedach, director of communications for Big Heart Pet Brands, says they especially wanted to make a stop in Pittsburgh because of all of the company employees stationed here. The company will sponsor a bring-your-dog to work day so employees can take their pooches straight to the truck. Milo’s Kitchen specializes in all-natural dog treats likes its Grilled Burger Bites and Chicken Meatballs. Trampedach says the 100 percent chicken and beef treats look and smell like human food, adding, “You wouldn’t want to put them out at a cocktail party. “Milo is an idea of a dog that is a part of the family, and his treats were developed to be of the same quality and look like the type of food you would feed your family.â€? In addition to the free canine fare, owners and their dogs can enjoy a place to lounge, play fetch and drink water. Pet parents also can take home a memory with a professional photo from the “doggie selfieâ€? station. Trampedach says she took her dog, Enzo, to the truck in San Francisco, and he was “thrilledâ€? the entire time. “It’s a great opportunity for pets and dog parents to come by for a night of dog-family fun.â€? On Pirates Pup Nights, owners and dogs can both enjoy the game. The $28 dog package includes a Pirates Deck ticket for one human and one dog. A portion of the proceeds goes to local animal shelters. The remaining Pup Nights are Aug. 19 and 26. Emma Deihle is a staff writer for Trib Total Media. She can be reached at 412-380-8513 or edeihle@tribweb.com.
