Kay Frances (Shotts) Shedwick, formerly of Manor Township, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024. Kay was born Dec. 26, 1938, in Jeannette, PA, where she grew up, graduating second in her class from Jeannette High School. She studied at Indiana State Teachers College, where she met her future husband, Larry Shedwick. She finished her bachelor's degree in chemistry at Seton Hill College and married Larry in 1961. She taught chemistry, physics, and math at several schools in the Armstrong School District. She also earned a master's degree in safety science from IUP. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Carl Shotts; her husband, Larry Shedwick; her brother, Ron Shotts; and cousin, Jeff Shotts. She is survived by her children, Lawrence Jr. (Drew) and Sandy Shedwick, Andrea and Don Maue, Ruth and Patrick Bryant; and grandchildren, Ted and Nora Shedwick, Owen and Tanner Maue, Maeve and Tess Bryant; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be welcomed from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, at WELCH FUNERAL SERVICE, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Prayers of transfer will be offered at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, in the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at Christ, Prince of Peace Church, with The Very Rev.
