Peggy Byers Lockard, 96, formerly of Greensburg, died peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, at INOVA Alexandria Hospital, Alexandria, VA. She was born July 10, 1928, in Greensburg, PA, to the late Mary and Harry A. Byers. Mrs. Lockard was devoted to her family and dear friends and was grateful for her many blessings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Lockard; and sisters, DeDe Feightner and Sis Herrington. Peggy is survived by her children, Harry Byers Lockard, and wife, Kim, of Suwanee, Georgia, and Carol Lockard Dickerson, and husband, Spencer, of Alexandria, Virginia; grandchildren, Jason Lockard, and wife, Chrissy Sarah Greathouse, and husband, Travis, and Rebecca Dickerson, and husband, Mathias Heller; as well as four great-grandchildren, Lucas, Henry, and Grace Greathouse, and Isabella Lockard. Family and friends are invited to a service to celebrate Peggy's life at 12 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church 15 E. Second St., Greensburg, PA 15601. Private interment will be held in St. Clair Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
