Christopher Hamren passed away Sept. 11, 2024, from complications of an infection. He is at peace finally, surrounded by his loving family that went before him. Born in Sewickley, PA, on Nov. 29, 1958, to Fred (Tim), and Marcia Hamren, Chris spent his entire life living either in or near his birthplace. When younger, he was often seen cycling around on his bike that was tricked out with components and gear that his dad bought him overseas. He was so proud - and fast! Even won a couple of races. After graduation from high school, he attended Muskingum University in Ohio for two years, followed by another year at Pitt studying art-related courses. He loved to draw, and was a wizard at the building, fixing and designing pieces. Many still have one of his hand-drawn tee shirts- he made hundreds over the years! He went on to excel in welding, having his own shop for years. Some of his best work (spiral staircases, fences, tables, etc.) are still in houses in Sewickley and surrounding Pittsburgh. He also sold pieces to a retail store. He was a perfectionist for sure - every detail was thought out meticulously. Anyone that truly knew him, knew that he was quite a character and a caring person that loved to smile and make you laugh. Chris had a lot of demons, unfortunately, and the hope is that now, those will all be on the wayside. He was predeceased by his parents, and is survived by his sister, Leslie, who has loved him tirelessly; George, his brother-in-law; niece, Ellie; and step-niece, Megan. He is also survived by his dear and steadfast companion, Michele. Rest in peace, Christopher Jude. You might not believe it, but you were loved. For anyone wanting to celebrate Chris's life, please remember him fondly, and think of him kindly. And just know that people who are put into your life, spontaneously or otherwise, often have a story or past that might not be clear, or understandable. Some folks have a history that might be sad and complicated, whether it is their fault or not. Always be kind. Services/celebration of life TBD. Arrangements entrusted to R. D.
