Vehicle crashes into New Kensington house
A vehicle crashed into a New Kensington house early Thursday morning.
The crash happened just before 2 a.m. along North Street, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
The vehicle went through a yard, hit another vehicle and struck the house before catching on fire. Crews put out the blaze with fire extinguishers.
One person was taken into custody at the scene, WTAE reported.
Additional information, including whether anyone was injured in the crash, was not immediately available.
$3 million lottery ticket sold in Pittsburgh
A winning Mega Million lottery ticket worth $3 million was sold in Pittsburgh.
Kuhn’s Market along Banksville Road will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, Pennsylvania Lottery officials said Tuesday.
The ticket matched all five white balls drawn, plus had a Megaplier option that increased its value.
More than 38,800 other PA Lottery Mega Millions tickets also won prizes of various amounts in Tuesday’s drawing, officials said.
That jackpot is now estimated at an annuity value of $393 million or $181.5 million cash for the next drawing Friday.
Elizabeth Township police mourn death of K9
Elizabeth Township Police Department on Tuesday announced the death of their K9 officer, Eli.
The dog joined the department in 2016, police officials said in a social media post, and has had hundreds of apprehensions and seizures since then.
“In that same time, he has touched thousands of hearts,” the Facebook post said.
A formal memorial service will be announced later this week.
Tractor-trailer stuck in Downtown Pittsburgh
A tractor-trailer became stuck Thursday morning in Downtown Pittsburgh.
The truck became wedged along the Stanwix Street on-ramp to Interstate 376, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
It was not immediately clear how long it might take to remove the vehicle.
