Pittsburgh Penguins coach Mike Sullivan will lead the United States men’s hockey team at the 2026 Winter Olympics held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, USA Hockey announced Saturday.
Sullivan, 56, will also lead Team USA at the 2025 Four Nations Face-Off, which features the U.S., Canada, Finland and Sweden.
Hosts have yet to be named, but will be one American and one Canadian city, from Feb. 12-20, 2025.
The 2026 Winter Olympics are set to be held from Feb. 6-22, 2026.

Sullivan was an assistant coach for the U.S. at the 2006 games, when Team USA finished in eighth out of 12 participating countries in Turin, Italy.
He was named the Team USA coach in 2022 but ultimately did not attend due to NHL players not participating.
Sullivan’s international coaching career to date includes serving as head coach of Team USA at the 2007 World Championship and assistant coach at the 2008 World Championship.
Sullivan was also an assistant for the 2016 World Cup.
As a player, Sullivan, a Marshfield, Mass., native, represented the U.S. at the 1988 World Junior Championship and 1997 World Championship.
He has served as the Penguins’ coach since December of 2015, winning the Stanley Cup in 2016 and 2017.
