March 29 is National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day, so we're shining a spotlight on the locally-owned gems that keep our communities thriving. Every year, TribLIVE invites readers across Southwestern Pennsylvania to nominate and vote for their favorite independent businesses through TribLIVE's Best of the Best Community Choice Awards.
The nomination process allows the public to nominate their favorite local businesses in categories ranging from best restaurant to best salon. The top 5 nominees in each category then advance to the final voting round to determine the winner and two finalists as chosen by the community's voices.
The 2023 Best of the Best winners, announced on December 7th, 2023, represent the small businesses that have captured the hearts of locals through outstanding service, quality offerings, and that signature personal touch you can't find at a chain.
From cozy diners and specialty stores to skilled tradesmen and trusted service providers, these homegrown businesses are the backbone of our neighborhoods.
