Mary Beth L. Jenkins will be UPMC Health Plan’s next president and CEO starting Jan. 1, the health care provider announced Friday.
She will also serve as president of UPMC Insurance Services Division and executive vice president of UPMC.
“Mary Beth’s forward-thinking work within UPMC’s successful integrated health care delivery system has helped ensure the Health Plan continues to offer affordable coverage while providing outstanding customer satisfaction and high-quality health care,” said Leslie C. Davis, president and CEO of UPMC.
Jenkins will replace current president and CEO Diane P. Holder, who is set to retire on Dec. 31 after a 40-year career with UPMC.
Previously, Jenkins has served in numerous roles at UPMC Health Plan since 1998, and when Holder’s pending retirement was announced in 2023, Jenkins was additionally appointed as executive vice president and chief operating officer of UPMC Insurance Services Division.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Slippery Rock University and her master’s degree in business administration from Duquesne University.
Outside of UPMC, Jenkins has served on the board of directors for several nonprofit organizations and privately held companies, including Slippery Rock University Health Care Administration & Management Board of Stakeholders, Carlow University, Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, Lawrence County Tourist Promotion Agency, March of Dimes and Leadership Pittsburgh, Inc., Health Fidelity, Cavulus, and Astrata.
She also is a longtime volunteer for the United Way of Allegheny County.
Jenkins was not available for comment on Friday.
