A wall decorated with a large mural was damaged Thursday afternoon when a car crashed into the Charley Brothers Shop ‘n Save supermarket on East Pittsburgh Street in Greensburg.

The woman driving the car was checked out by medics and did not require treatment, according to Greensburg fire Chief Tom Bell. He said it was unclear why the car plunged forward from the parking area into the wall shortly before 2 p.m.

No one was standing next to wall in the store’s produce section at the time, store manager Rob Jones said.

“Thanks goodness,” he said. “It knocked some shelving over and pushed out the produce case.”

He said the wall was boarded up and the produce case should be restocked on Friday.

The store noted on its Facebook page: “If you shop our Pittsburgh Street store, you’ll see unplanned construction.”

“It’s going to take a few days to get the parts to repair the wall,” Jones said.

In addition to a hole in the store wall, the crash left a gap in a mural covering about 4,600 square feet of the wall.

The colorful mural was completed over two months in the summer of 2023 by Greensburg artist Daisher Rocket. It features floral images and depicts a red Charley Brothers truck.
