The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to begin the second half of the NFL season, exiting their bye week at 6-2 and among the top teams in the AFC.
They will face some challenges to remain among those contenders with a daunting schedule ahead, starting at 1 p.m. Sunday with a road matchup at the Washington Commanders.
Washington improved to 7-2 after a 27-22 win over the Giants on Sunday. Quarterback Jayden Daniels, a rookie of the year favorite, threw for 209 yards and two scores. He has compiled nearly 2,000 passing yards this season and a QB rating of 106.7.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is meeting with the media Tuesday to preview the matchup and provide an injury report.
Here’s a look at what Tomlin had to say:

On Daniels: "I don't think you'll find anybody who will say he's playing like a rookie." Tomlin notes that Daniels has body of work as starting QB dating to Arizona State and LSU but the scouting focus is on his nine NFL games.

Says Cam Sutton's role is TBD. Calls him a "utility back," citing intellect and physical abilities allowing him to play inside and outside at corner and safety at times. "Cam is capable of playing anywhere in the secondary" and advises everybody in the secondary to be on notice.
