West Penn Power Co.’s electric service outage map indicates that power should be restored by late Sunday afternoon to about 700 customers without power in Penn Township, Southwest Greensburg, Unity and the Hunker and Donegal areas.
The Greensburg-based utility reported on its outage map that about 225 customers were without power in Claridge area of Penn Township; about 300 without power in Southwest Greensburg; and about 150 around Saint Vincent College in Unity, as of 2:30 p.m. Fewer than 40 customers were without power in the Hunker and Donegal areas, according to the outage map.
West Penn Power said it expects to have power restored to its customers between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
Duquesne Light Co. is working to restore power Sunday afternoon to about 150 customers in the Pittsburgh area from six outages, according to the Duquesne Light’s power outage map.
Crews are on site working to restore power to customers in the Carrick and Baldwin area after equipment issues caused an outage, said Alyssa Battaglia, a Duquesne Light spokeswoman. Power is expected to be restored by approximately 4 p.m., with many expected to be restored sooner, Battaglia said around 12:45 p.m.
Separately, other crews are working to replace a utility pole in Mt. Washington that was broken during a motor vehicle accident, Battaglia said. Customers in the area may briefly lose service while the equipment is fixed, she noted.
The National Weather Service issued a high wind advisory through 10 p.m. Sunday. South winds 5 t0 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected.
