Pittsburgh said farewell to the year welcomed 2025 Tuesday evening with fireworks and a community celebration Downtown.
Highmark First Night Pittsburgh included a parade, a 6 p.m. children’s fireworks show, musical performances and more fireworks into the night.
The evening’s crescendo culminated with the raising of the Future of Pittsburgh Ball, which weighs more than 1,000 pounds has thousands of LED lights.
The ball rose nearly 75 feet as fireworks erupted and the song “Auld Lang Syne” blared over speakers.
“We’re thrilled to welcome visitors to the Cultural District for an incredible showcase of arts and entertainment,” said Brooke Horejsi, chief programming and engagement officer for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. “From fireworks to an ice maze, hip hop to jazz, comedy to Drag, and so much more, this is a joyous way for our community to ring in 2025.”
