Police seek Beaver Falls man accused of homicide

A Beaver Falls man faces homicide charges after authorities believe he killed a man and left his body in a vacant building in Beaver County before New Year’s Eve.

An arrest warrant was issued for Daniel Felo II, 37, in connection to the slaying of Eric Mason, 48. Mason was found with a gunshot wound to the back of his head in an abandoned building on the 200 block of 11th Street in Beaver Falls on Dec. 30.

According to a criminal complaint, authorities began searching for Mason when a woman reported her vehicle was stolen. She said Mason borrowed the vehicle and never returned it.

The woman called officers a short time later and said someone she knew found the car, and that person found who they believed to be Mason inside the building. Officers arrived at the building and found Mason, who appeared to be wrapped in tarps and tied up with extension cords, the complaint said.

Security footage caught Felo entering and exiting an apartment near the abandoned building, according to the complaint.

A woman who lived at the apartment told officers she overheard Felo talking about Mason and how he was going to kill him, the complaint said. Another person told police Felo spoke with them about shooting Mason and then demonstrated how he fell after being shot.

Felo is being charged with homicide, robbery and the prohibited possession of a firearm.

Authorities advise people to not to approach Felo and to call the City of Beaver Falls Police Department at 724-775-0880 or dial 911 if they have info on his whereabouts.
