Pittsburgh’s iconic Iron City Beer sign atop Mount Washington is no more. Instead, an ad for the law firm Pond Lehocky is going up in its place.
The Lamar-managed advertising space was later occupied by advertisements for Alcoa, Bayer, Sprint and the National Flag Foundation before Iron City Beer was placed at the hilltop location in 2020.
Across all social media platforms, Steel City residents have expressed their displeasure at the new development.

The end of an era: the Iron City sign on Mt. Washington in #Pittsburgh is no more, as it was taken down this morning. I really enjoyed having it light up the hillside, and am going to miss capturing some images like these. Even was able to sneak in a snow globe shot last week. pic.twitter.com/IJV0s4SqnB

I just found out the Iron City sign, one of the most iconic landmarks in Pittsburgh, was replaced with a sign for a law firm. My day is now completely ruined.
