Fire in Leetsdale
Crews battled a fire in Leetsdale early Tuesday morning.
The Leetsdale Volunteer Fire Department responded after 3 a.m. to a home along First Street.
Fire officials posted to Facebook that crews were getting a handle on the flames, which appeared to be located mostly in the basement, but some had begun to spread to upper floors.
They asked that anyone in the area of First Street and Ferry Street use caution or avoid the area altogether.
“There are a lot of fire apparatus in the area as well as hoses going into the house,” the post said. “There will be a lot of water running down the streets and freezing almost immediately.
“There will be firemen working in the area and if you come to the area too fast you may not be able to get stopped on the ice, possibly causing you to slide into a firefighter.”
