Car smashes into Ross home
No one was reported injured after a vehicle crashed into a Ross home on Wednesday.
Emergency crews were called to Jacks Run Road at about 3:30 p.m.
The Seville Volunteer Fire Company posted to Facebook a photo of the smashed car, which sustained major damage.
An investigation continues.
Water main break shuts down Shaler road
A water main break closed a busy Shaler road early Thursday.
The break happened in the area of Parker and Koehler streets, according to TribLive news partner WTAE. A portion of Parker was closed while crews make repairs.
Crews were called at about 4 a.m.
It was unclear how many customers are affected.
Smash and grab in Hempfield
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating after a smash and grab robbery in Hempfield.
Police were called to the parking lot of an LA Fitness earlier this month where they found windows to a vehicle smashed, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
A backpack was reported stolen and the suspect used the victim’s credit card for a spending spree.
Police are asking anyone with information to call state police at 1-800-472-8477 (800-4PA-TIPS).
Parkway North crash charges filed
A Pittsburgh man is facing charges for a Christmas Eve hit-and-run crash on the Parkway North that injured another person.
Jeremy Michael Smith, 34, is charged with accidents involving injury and several traffic violations.
According to TribLive news partner WTAE, the driver of a disabled car was pushing it off the road near the Hazlett Street Exit when a black Dodge Ram 1500 truck driven by Smith hit the man.
The victim’s injuries required his leg to be amputated, according to police.
Police credited the public for generating several tips in the case.
Whitehall police warn of online scam
Whitehall police have taken several fraud reports this week related to an estate sale scam on Facebook.
Police posted to its social media to give an example of what the fake ads look like.
People claiming to be selling items like tractors, trailers and home goods. The seller asks for a deposit and says the items will be delivered at a later date.
Police are urging people to avoid falling for the fake sales and instead try to contact the person before sending money.
Fire crews respond to Upper St. Clair home
Firefighters battled a house fire in Upper St. Clair on Thursday morning, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
Calls came in just after 6 a.m. for a home on fire along Country Club Drive, Washington County 911 dispatchers said.
Firefighters from Peters Township in that county were asked to respond, according to dispatchers.
It was unclear if anyone was injured.
