Goaltender Tristan Jarry made 22 saves on 26 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 5-3 loss to the Utica Comets at the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, N.Y. on Friday.
As had become habit this season as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Jarry allowed a goal on the first shot he faced, permitting Comets forward Brian Halonen to score on a redirection only 4:36 into regulation.
The result dropped Jarry’s record at the American Hockey League level this season to 4-2-0.
Forward Jesse Puljujarvi had a goal and an assist for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (20-10-4-0) while forward Valtteri Puustinen contributed two assists.
Penguins defenseman Jack St. Ivany returned to the lineup after missing 15 games due to an undisclosed injury.

Penguins forward Tristan Broz and goaltender Filip Larsson were each scratched. Earlier this week, Inside AHL Hockey reported Broz will be sidelined indefinitely due to a bout with mononucleosis while Larsson will be out on a week-to-week basis due to an undisclosed injury.
The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Comets on Saturday, 6:05 p.m.
A pair of goals by forward Kyle Jackson led the Wheeling Nailers to a 4-3 win against the Kansas City Mavericks at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.
Forwards Matt Koopman and Matthew Querica each had a goal and an assist for Wheeling (27-8-2-0) forwards forwards Matty De St. Phalle and Gabe Klassen both contributed two assists.
Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 35 saves on 38 shots to improve his record to 8-4-0.
