Two new stamp designs are set to release this year — in “Goodnight Moon” and “SpongeBob SquarePants” themes.

The U.S. Postal Service revealed the new forever stamps in mid-January, saying the designs are preliminary and could change.

The “Goodnight Moon” stamps are themed after the 1947 bedtime story, popular with families across the country.

There will be eight images from the book featured in each pane of 16 stamps, the postal service said. “Goodnight Moon” was illustrated by Clement Hurd and written by Margaret Wise Brown.

Inspired by the hit Nickelodeon animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg, the “SpongeBob SquarePants” stamps include four different designs depicting the main character himself and his friends in Bikini Bottom.

Derry Noyes and Greg Breeding, art directors for USPS, designed the “Goodnight Moon” and “SpongeBob SquarePants” stamps, respectively.

The postal service said additional new stamps will be announced in the coming weeks and months.

Stamps can be purchased on the U.S. Postal Service store online, by calling 844-737-7826, by mail or at select Post Office locations nationwide.
