Though Grammys fans were surprised by Kanye West’s appearance on the red carpet Sunday night, arguably more were shocked by his wife Bianca Censori’s choice of clothing — or lack thereof.
Censori, an architect who works for West’s Yeezy company, removed her fur coat while walking the carpet, revealing a see-through slip that left her completely nude in front of cameras, Variety reported. West, who now goes by Ye, wore an all-black ensemble, including sunglasses, however.
Her nude garment fueled online discourse on the social media platform X. “Bianca Censori” has been trending on X since Sunday night.

The way Bianca Censori has degrees, is smart, and had a suitable career before Kanye and somehow they met and now she walks naked in public is so sad and tragic. pic.twitter.com/yUt0KH7jhg

Look at Bianca Censori’s startled face and uncertain body language. Kanye West directs her. Look how she moves - it’s how he tells her to.
This is controlling behaviour and he is humiliating her on the biggest stage he can get - and one he had to invade. He’s not mad. This is… pic.twitter.com/koKnqt9Za5

If someone doesn’t consent to seeing you naked….That is called INDECENT EXPOSURE and it is a CRIME.
I never consented to seeing this woman naked and I’m sure a lot of people with their children watching didn’t either. This is really disturbing. #BiancaCensori#KanyeWestpic.twitter.com/Q7kYUgbUC3

I’m not posting that picture of Bianca Censori, but there is something wrong with Kanye to do that to his wife. It seems clear he is trying to humiliate her.

Censori reportedly married the rapper in a private ceremony in January 2023.
The couple’s surprise arrival at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles turned heads, and a report circulated online that they had been kicked out of the event and were not officially invited to attend, according to Variety.
Upcoming Local Events
Following their red carpet appearance, West and Censori were nowhere to be seen in the venue. One source close to the Grammys disputed that rumor that they had been kicked out — saying it was “not true” and that West simply “walked the carpet, got in his car and left,” Variety said.
The controversial rapper appeared on Alex Jones’ now defunct “Infowars” talk show in December 2022, in which the rapper praised Adolf Hitler and spewed antisemitic sentiments.
The track “Carnival,” a collaborative single with Ty Dolla Sign, Rich the Kid and Playboi Carti, which hit number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, from his collaborative album “Vultures 1” with Ty Dolla Sign, was nominated for best rap song at Sunday’s Grammys ceremony.
West has been nominated for 75 Grammys throughout his career and won 24, according to Variety.
Naked dress trend
In 2024, naked dresses dominated the red carpets at the Academy Awards and Met Gala, for example, CNN Style reported.
Wearing a naked dress centers around the power of suggestion, and sometimes, the wearer isn’t revealing anything at all, according to CNN Style. They can come in all shapes and sizes, as well as varying levels of exposure.
Celebrities, including Elle Fanning, Kim Kardashian, Doja Cat, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lawrence and Charli XCX have embraced the trend in the past.
But Censori’s approach Sunday was a stark contrast to many guests’ muted palettes and pared-back styling amid tributes to victims of Los Angeles’ devastating wildfires, CNN Style said.
She has frequently worn revealing outfits in the past in public, and some people have speculated online regarding West’s role in Censori’s fashion choices. Others were wondering about California’s indecent exposure laws.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told CNN via email that it had “not been made aware of any incident at the Grammys.”
